Novus Shade Canopy | Mirrored Panel System
Novus Shade Canopy | Mirrored Panel System
Novus Shade Canopy – Tempe, Arizona
Turning heads at the Novus Innovation Corridor in Tempe, this mirrored shade canopy system delivers both visual impact and functional comfort. In collaboration with A.R. Mays Construction, Kovach engineered and installed 500 precisely placed aluminum panels with 4mm mirror finishes that transform the space throughout the day.
The system is designed to reflect and refract sunlight across the public space below, creating an ever-changing interplay of light, movement, and shadow. As the sun shifts, the panels catch highlights and cast reflections, turning the canopy into a living installation that’s both artistic and highly functional.
Kovach provided a full-scope enclosure solution, including design-assist, fabrication, layout, and installation. The mirrored panels were carefully fabricated and aligned for visual uniformity, demonstrating Kovach’s ability to execute high-tolerance architectural metal systems.
This specialty project is part of ASU’s broader Novus Innovation Corridor, where thoughtful public space design meets cutting-edge development. The shade canopy represents a shared commitment to sustainability, material excellence, and experiential architecture.
