Pushing the (Building) Envelope Since 1969

Kovach’s History

In the spring of 1969, Stephen E. Kovach III founded Kovach Properties in Scottsdale, Arizona. Prior to relocating to Arizona, Mr. Kovach spent 15 years with the E.G. Smith Organization of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, one of the nation’s leading industrial metal siding and roofing manufacturer/contractors during the 1950s and 1960s.

Once established in Scottsdale, Kovach started marketing metal roof and wall systems in the western region of the United States. Shortly thereafter, Stephen E. Kovach IV joined the company as an installation foreman and saw the company grow steadily over the years.  He would go on to succeed his father as president of Kovach and is now the company’s Principal.

Troy Garrett is now the company’s President & CEO. With more than 24 years of executive leadership, he has held a variety of operational roles including CEO of an enclosure company, President of a civil construction firm, and Executive Vice President/Regional Manager for one the nation’s larger general contracting firms.

Offering a complete enclosure solution has been key to company growth. Having developed glass and stone systems that integrate seamlessly with Kovach’s metal systems, Kovach Building Enclosures is now among the most sophisticated exterior enclosure companies in the nation.  Most importantly, the growth that has occurred over the last 40 plus years is the direct result of maintaining an expert staff that has grown to over 300 of the best and most experienced personnel the industry has to offer.  Many staff members have met 10 to 20 years of service and Kovach prides itself on taking care of its employees.

Kovach believes its best days are yet to come.  They will continue to honor the family tradition of innovative solutions, quality products and long term relationships that has served them well for 49 years and counting.
